Touch is necessary for basic health and growth in all living beings, yet deprivation is normal in our society. Fear of others, taught from childhood, can keep us isolated in the crowd of our daily life. Massage therapy provides a safe, nurturing place where you will be treated with respect, carefully listened to, allowed to talk or not talk, have control over how much pressure is used and able to stop the therapy at any time. You are accepted as you are, without judgment. Offering increased muscle tone, pain relief, and stress reduction, massage therapy is a part of a balanced health care program.
Modalities Offered
Aromatherapy
Aromatherapy is a holistic approach that facilitates equilibrium of physical, mental and spiritual health through essential oils.
Aromatherapy is a form of alternative medicine that uses volatile plant materials, known as essential oils, and other aromatic compounds for the purpose of altering a person’s mood, cognitive function or health, usually through massage or inhalation. Since some essential oils such as tea tree have demonstrated anti-microbial effects, it has been suggested that they may be useful for the treatment of infectious diseases. The lack of scientific studies prevents factual statements regarding the results.
I use essential oils and plant based fixed oils in the massage sessions to support good health, deep relaxation and release of tension and toxins. Be sure to let me know if you do not want any essential oils in your session, as they are my natural response to body issues. It is not about the fragrance, it is about the vibration of the oil, the healing properties.
Rainbow Therapy
Using a personal selection of essential oils on the spine during the massage to enhance the sense of well-being in the body, mind and spirit. This is my own style of aromatherapy for massage.
Lymphatic Drainage Massage
Gentle manipulation engaging your lymphatic system. Increases circulation and the function of the body’s immune system. I taught this at a local massage school for several years – it is one of my specialties. Manual lymphatic drainage does good things for everyone, it is especially helpful pre and post surgery as well as during the cold and flu season..
CranioSacral
Holistic, hands-on technique involving gentle manipulation, the underlying meningeal membranes of the bones of the skull, and the nerve endings in the scalp. Corrects imbalances and allows the body to better heal itself and maintain health.
Neuromuscular Therapy
Deep tissue muscular therapy relieves pain and removes inflammation from soft tissue throughout the body. It balances the central nervous system returning the body to full mobility.
Reflexology
Manipulation of different ‘reflex zones’, usually on the feet. Increases relaxation and improves circulation.
Reiki
One of many forms of healing through the use of the natural forces with light touch or hand placements just above the body. Balances energy fields to return to a greater wholeness.
Spiritual Healing Coach
Working with the individual to help them find Oneness. Train the mind to shift Judgement into Forgiveness.
Raindrop Therapy
Application of essential oils directly into the spine stimulating energy impulses as taught by Young Living Oils. Improves spinal balance and assists in treatment of chronic back pain, while supporting the immune system.
Acupressure
Gentle yet deep pressure applied to specific points in the body. Alleviates pain and enables the body to relax deeply and maintain good health.
Swedish-Esalen Massage
Full body massage with gentle, nurturing, sweeping strokes using lotions and/or oils. Induces deep, soothing relaxation.
